A leading Southport hotel has been closed for over three months due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street is among 23 sites closed down by owners Britannia, which also owns The Prince Of Wales on Lord Street in Southport and Pontins in Ainsdale.
A Britannia spokesman said: “We are all facing a period of uncertainty due to the impacts of COVID-19.
“On 18 March 2020 the UK Government advised against non-essential travel. On this basis, we have closed some of our hotels until the 30th June 2020.
“We are very sorry for the disruption this may cause you.”

Britannia Wigan Hotel; Metropole Hotel; Britannia Nottingham Hotel; Savoy Hotel Blackpool; Britannia Bolton Hotel; Heathlands Hotel Bournemouth; Scarisbrick Hotel Southport; Clifton Hotel Scarborough; Royal Hotel Scarborough; Britannia Edinburgh Hotel; Carrington House Hotel Bournemouth; Airport Inn Manchester Hotel & Spa; Adamton Country House; Basingstoke Country Hotel; Trecarn Hotel Torquay; The Cavendish Hotel; and The Russ Hill Hotel Gatwick.
The Britannia spokesman said: “The health and safety of our guests and our staff working throughout the company is paramount to us.
“We have been closely monitoring the guidance issued by the Government, World Health Organisation, Public Health England as well as national health organisations.
“We are following this guidance where appropriate as well as taking preventative actions in our hotels and offices. Examples of this include:
“Hand sanitiser is widely available throughout our properties with additional signage encouraging its effective use
“Increased focus on cleaning across all of our properties
“Ensuring that we are prepared for unexpected eventualities.”
