Green Sefton is urging people to follow Government guidelines on restricting their exercise

People are being urged to avoid driving along the Southport coast to take their exercise.
The government recently imposed a wide range of restrictions on movement and distancing, to stop the spread of Coronavirus and Covid-19.
It means people should be taking any daily exercise, if they leave home at all, close to where they live.
A Green Sefton spokesman said: “Please do not ignore signs or Government instructions that have been well publicised.
“It is also vital that people realise that it is not alright to drive to the coast to take their exercise.
“Everyone should be taking their exercise on foot from their front door, not driving to the coast.

“Visitors should not be driving to Ainsdale Discovery Centre to then take a stroll.
“Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.”
Green Sefton are also asking people not to ignore signs and enter restricted areas.
They said: “It is vital that people adhere to the #GreenSefton signs they see around the borough for their own safety and the safety of Green Sefton staff who are working with the rest of the Sefton Council team to maintain core services at this difficult time.
“The family who decided to climb over fences at the Botanic Gardens in Churchtown this week to get closer to the aviary is a case in point.
“If a site is closed it is closed. No exceptions.”
