Merseyrail will reduce its train services between Southport and Liverpool due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The company has seen vastly reduced numbers of passengers on the Northern Line and on other lines after the Government introduced substantial travel restrictions.
The new reductions in rail services are due to take effect from Thursday (April 2).
A Merseyrail spokesman said: “Due to the national emergency measures and increasing numbers of station, depot and onboard staff self-isolating caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be further significant changes to Merseyrail services from Thursday 2 April 2020.
“Trains will now operate mainly between 7am and 7pm Monday to Saturday, with services every 30 minutes across all lines.

“Following feedback from those still travelling on the network, Merseyrail’s planning team has worked hard to make small adjustments to the reduced timetable using the resources available.
“Merseyrail are now able to provide an additional limited service on some lines between 7am and 10pm Monday to Saturday to better accommodate those travelling to or from work.
“Sunday services will operate between 8am and 8pm.”
The changes to the timetable come after Merseyrail listened to the concerns of key workers across the region.
A spokesman said: “There are likely to be further amendments to our timetable over the coming weeks, and we would encourage all customers to check before you travel.
“This can be done by visiting our website or the Merseyrail twitter account @merseyrail for the latest information.”
