A farmer has launched a new drive-thru shop which works on the same principles as McDonald’s!
The new venture near Southport is designed to allow coronavirus-friendly shopping with contactless shop-to-car delivery.
During these strange and testing times Farmer Ted’s Adventure farm, on Flatman’s Lane in Downholland, has been forced to close like many other businesses.
This has been catastrophic, but with some clever thought and use of IT Mark and Diane Edwards have launched a new Drive-Thru Farm Shop where customers will order their shopping on site and have their items delivered directly to the boot of their car, making it easier for people across Merseyside and West Lancashire to get their essential shopping.
The Farm Shop will operate a contactless service with ordering, payment and delivery all observing social distancing.

The new shop will stock essentials such as milk and dairy products, eggs, bread, fruit and vegetables as well as fresh meat,
Mark Edwards said: “We are running a Fresh Market with goods being sourced daily to meet customers’ requirements with updated online daily menus available via their Facebook page, there’s also a video of how you order.
“Our customers have always shown us great support over the years and we want to help them as much as possible, during this crisis. We have our regular families who visit us all from all over Merseyside, West Lancashire and beyond who we know are having difficulty getting hold of some items.
“The Farm Shop will operate with the same principle as McDonald’s with customers able to drive up, order their items, pay and have their shopping packed into the boot of their car, without having to leave their vehicle.
“Local customers fondly remember our Worrall House Farm Larder, which served the community with high quality local produce for many years, now we have a real reason to launch The Farm Shop to help our community with their essential shopping needs.”
Mark & Diane Edwards set up award-winning family business Farmer Ted’s in 2003.
The venue is well-known for family favourite Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm and seasonal events including Farmer Christmas and seasonal scare event Farmaggedon.
Last year Farmer Ted’s became the home of the Shaun the Sheep Adventure after clinching a deal with Aardman, the makers of Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Grommit.
