Southport wedding photographer Matthew Ormesher

A much-loved wedding photographer and Dad-of-five has died suddenly, coming as “a complete shock” to all who knew him.

Matthew Ormesher worked for many years at Bakers Lodge Studio in Southport.

Tragically he died yesterday morning (Monday, May 11), from a sudden heart attack. He was just 49 years old.

Bakers Lodge Studio owner Paul Shrive said: “To the brides and grooms we have been with on their special day and to those whose day we are lucky enough to have been asked to attend now and in the future….

“On Monday morning shortly after 10am Matthew passed away leaving his five children and soulmate, Angie.

“It was not expected and there was no warning so it has come as a complete shock and needless to say everything is a little numb as of this moment in time.

“Matthew was an amazing photographer, an amazing human being and my best friend.

“I will miss you eternally and truly heartbroken.

“When I was down you would be the one to pick me back up.

“When I was sad you would fill my head with happiness.

“When I couldn’t cope with situations you pushed me in the right direction to make me see clearly.

“When I was lost you would be the one to find me…… but while you have gone from this earth, I know you will still always be with me.

“I’m going to miss you so much mukka.”

The Bakers Lodge Studio website describes Matthew as “the father of five wonderful and very active children who like to keep him on his toes, we are sure he comes to work for a rest!”

They added: “He was born and raised in Southport and still lives here along with his family.

“Photography seems to be in the Ormesher bloodline, as his father, Harry Ormesher, was a renowned photographer in the 70s and his brother, Bradley Ormesher, is a high-profile sports photographer.

“He is at his best working with people and loves being able to capture those moments that are special to each and every individual, whether that be shooting at a wedding, Christening or in the studio.

“He is deeply personal in what he produces and everything he creates is from the heart.”

Paul has pledged to contact any Bakers Lodge Studio customers who have events coming up.

He said: “For the couples whose weddings we were to cover before Covid-19 took a grip I know we have sorted everything out already and to the couples whose big day takes place in 2021 and 2022 I will be in touch over the course of the next few weeks.”
