The Easter bunny and his friend Lili are waving to children in lockdown as they walk around roads in Southport

The Easter bunny and his friend Lili are bringing smiles this Easter by waving through windows to children during lockdown.

The fun initiative – which is free – is being done by two key workers in Southport.

Lisa is a family support worker while her partner Shane is a delivery driver.

Lisa said: “We are Mummy and Daddy key workers with a young child who completely understand the challenges lockdown brings.

“We have had police gratefully applaud us from their vehicles knowing we are abiding by the rules.

“There is no charge, just smiles, we are not an entertainment business, we are simply doing this to be kind for the community.

“Easter Bunny and his friend Lili are abiding by all legalities and doing the one hour exercise a day, after work, to wave at all the children in lockdown.”

Parents can follow the Easter Bunny’s route on the Be Kind Facebook page.

Lisa said: “Please do not approach Bunny or his escort. Pictures can only be taken from at least two metres away.”

Children can see Easter Bunny and Lili this Thursday, 9th April, on their evening hop in Birkdale.

They will be at: Upper Aughton Road starting at Compton Road end at 5pm walking to Mosley Street, on to Banastre Road, then Fernley Road and down Grove Street. They will then walk Everton Road, St Peters Road before finishing on Crosby Road.

Lisa said: “We can wave from the kerbside only, so give us those shouts so we can see you!

“Look out look out Easter Bunny is about!”
