Thousands of people spotted an aircraft flying a large banner in support of the NHS ahead of tonight’s Clap For Carers event.
The ‘plane was spotted in various parts of the Merseyside area, including Southport and Liverpool.
It flew a banner reading: “Thank you NHS and front line services.”
The thank you initiative was organised by local businessman Peter Robinson, owner of Charlotte Lucy’s Fitted Bedrooms, based on Longmoor Lane in Fazakerley.
Mr Robinson arranged for the aircraft to fly over hospitals including Southport and Alder Hey to thank the NHS and all the staff working there during the coronavirus crisis.

Peter’s friend, Katie Garner, said: “Peter just wanted to show his support and thanks to the NHS and all our frontline NHS workers and key workers with everything that is going on with Covid-19. He arranged for the ‘plane to fly over the hospitals to say thank you.
“Peter does a lot for charity an also lives next door to a nurse so it was his way to say thank you.
“It flew around Peter’s house in Kirkby then to Fazakerley Hospital then Alder Hey onto The Royal and then Southport.
“He has a lot of family who are key workers too and he just wanted to show his support and give a lift in spirits and to show them we are all behind them.”
