Emergency services workers battling the coronavirus crisis have been enjoying hot drinks from a special brewstop set up by a local resident.
The station was set up outside Amy Rigby’s home after she was horrified to see two paramedics being charged for coffee.
The facility is situated on Southport Road in Scarisbrick, between Southport Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital.
Amy said: “I saw two paramedics rushing around a shop wanting a coffee which they were charged £4. I jumped in and paid.
“It got me thinking they shouldn’t have to pay for a drink with the service they are doing. So Alex Popa has built a hut outside our house as we are the main road between Southport Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital (Southport Road) so that any emergency services workers who pass my house there will be tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, supplies and a kettle for you to make a cup of tea. If anybody wants to donate some nice treats feel free.”

Among those to enjoy the facilities have been officers from Ormskirk & Burscough Police.
A spokesman said: “As Andy & Martin always say… Never ever turn down a good brew!
“How good is this! A very kind household on Southport Road, Scarisbrick has set up a little brewstop for emergency service workers.
I was furloughed – so volunteered to work at Southport Foodbank
“Sergeant Scotty & Martin decided to partake while on our lunch hour. I tried my best to get Sergeant Scotty’s face in the photos, but his elusive abilities struck again!
“In all seriousness, this kind of selfless gesture is amazing. Thank you from all of us!”
