I have been a regular at The Swan Restaurant and Take Away for 13 years and their high standards have not slipped one bit in that time.
Whether dining in their large restaurant areas inside, or simply taking away, the food, service & value for money at this famous chippy are second to none.
The Swan is family-owned, and it shows. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always a warm welcome.

The chips are beautiful.
It is the only chip shop in the area where I could happily eat a portion of chips on its own for a meal without getting bored. Clearly the raw materials – the potatoes themselves- are the best around.
My particular favourite is scampi and chips. The scampi is crisp and crunchy – even better if you ask for a slice of lemon and some tartare sauce!
For such good portions, the prices are very fair.
PRO TIP: if taking away and the weather is fine, make your way to the Promenade (four minutes walk), find a seat and admire the seaside view whilst eating your meal.
