A charity helping homeless people in Southport is urging people to join their ‘Show A Heart’ campaign.
Light For Life CEO Greta Fenney said: “To show our admiration and thanks for our colleagues at the hospital, police, fire services and all of those services which so many of us take for granted – care workers, shop workers, teachers, drivers and volunteers, and closer to home our hostel workers and Rough Sleeper outreach workers – we want everyone to join our Show a Heart campaign to brighten the route to work for all of these fabulous people working to protect the vulnerable and the sick with so much bravery.
“So get painting, cutting, sticking and dig out your love / heart lights and put them in your windows, on the fence or on your door to boost someone’s day!”

Light For Life, a registered charity run by a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers, is the first point of call for anyone in housing need in Southport and across Sefton.
In the past few days, workers have been busy helping people needing help and advice about tenancies, evictions and homelessness prevention.

“We have done this with the help.of local hotels.
“Meanwhile our family and youth support has continued online and by ‘phone and a huge effort has resulted in the distribution of boxes of emergency essentials to Southport Hospital for elderly patients being discharged into isolation, and for people in temporary accommodation who are self isolating..”
The Light For Life ‘phone number is 01704 501256 for anyone experiencing a housing crisis and for general advice.
