Benridge Care Group in Southport has been working with onCore Food Service Solutions and donated food to the Salvation Army, which went to Walton's Food Bank

A company which runs three local care homes has played its part during the Coronavirus crisis by donating food to those who need it most.

People have been shocked by the sight of supermarket shelves being left bare by panic buying leaving some empty handed. Others have struggled to afford food due to the suddenness of the lockdown while thousands of people have lost jobs or work.

Benridge Care Group, which is based in Southport, has been busy doing what they can by  working with their regular food supplier, onCore Food Service Solutions.

Between them they have donated vital supplies of food to the Salvation Army, which has then donated to people using Walton Food Bank in Liverpool.

Benridge runs: Benridge Residential Care Home on Queens Road in Southport; Good Companions Residential Care Home on Roe Lane in Southport; and Asmall Hall Nursing & Residential Care Home on Asmall Lane in Ormskirk.

Benridge Registered Manager Lisa Connolly said: “OnCore has agreed to reduce their pricing to us, at cost, so that we are able to provide further supplies to them.

“The Food Bank has been set up by the Salvation Army in Walton, Liverpool.
