People can win toilet rolls at a games machine at Silcock's Funland in Southport, as their response to the Coronavirus

A Southport business has tackled worries over the Coronavirus with a sense of humour – by filling one of its games machines with dozens of toilet rolls.

Silcock’s Funland, on The Promenade, has filled its Cosmic Crane grabber with loo rolls which people can play to win.

It posted images of the game on its Facebook page, saying: “We are on a roll @silcocksfunland @Britishhumour”.

Over the last few days, many people in Southport have been busy panic buying. Shoppers have posted pictures on social media showing supermarket shelves stripped of items including: toilet rolls; hand gel; soap; pasta; tinned tomatoes; rice; and other goods.

But while many are starting to worry about the situation facing the UK, Silcock’s decided the face the situation by making customers smile.
