A Southport woman has urged a greater sense of kindness after panic buyers left shop shelves without food and essential goods.
Megan Wainwright contacted Stand Up For Southport with shocking videos of the Home Bargains store at Meols Cop retail park in Kew, Southport, earlier this evening.
She said: “To all you selfish people out there that think this is acceptable then shame on you, leaving the most vulnerable without food, medicine, everyday bits and bobs.
“In situations like this you really do learn a lot about people.

“Buying a few extra bits at your weekly shop. Fine. but this is a joke and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
“About 800,000 people die a year of suicide and everyone is panicking and buying the whole shop out because of coronavirus. What does everyone do when the shops are shut as it’s a bank holiday? Or at Christmas time?
“Everyone is so quick to preach about kindness and being there for anyone, yet seems to forget that when it comes to times like this and they leave the vulnerable empty handed.”
