Police have been dropping off food parcels organised by the Light For Life charity at homes in Southport

Police have been dropping off emergency food parcels to homes in Southport.

The initiative is thanks to Southport-based charity Light For Life, as it continues with its Care Not Covid campaign.

A police spokesman said: “Along with many of the volunteer groups that are providing support during the Covid-19 emergency, our North Sefton Local Policing hub at Southport have a very small number of emergency food parcels to distribute to those we come across who are most in need.

“Here is one of our Southport PCSO’s having just dropped off one of these ‘Care Not Covid’ parcels, that have been provided to us by Light For Life.

“Anyone who needs to arrange for food deliveries during the 12 week shielding programme, should register on the Sefton Council website at https://crowd.in/KIjQfu
